SELECTO became our 14th winner of the year when winning the 14 runner mile and a quarter handicap at Newcastle this afternoon by a neck from the favourite Eleven Eleven. Ridden with great confidence by Joanna Mason the 4 year old gelding by Paco’s Boy can only improve for the outing after being purchased privately in October. The Racing Post said that this ‘22-race maiden making his debut for a stable which had three runners in this race, caused an upset but there looked to be no fluke about it and perhaps the change of scenery has rejuvenated him. This was only his third start on the All Weather’.
